Whare Hau Tutuu

Raakaunui Marae

Whare Hau Tutuu is a kaupapa Maaori creative space based in Kirikiriroa that weaves together art, wellbeing, and community. We create hands-on experiences that help people reconnect with their creativity as a form of rongoaa — medicine for the wairua, mind, and body. Through workshops, memberships, and collaborative waananga, we nurture hauora, innovation, and belonging. Our mahi supports individuals, whaanau, and workplaces to slow down, play, and rediscover the joy of making, while building a sustainable creative ecosystem grounded in manaaki, tautoko, and kaitiakitanga.

We provide

Creative Workshops & Waananga – hands-on, kaupapa Maaori experiences that use artmaking as rongoaa to support wellbeing and connection.

Memberships & Community Access – a home for makers, creatives, and everyday people to explore, learn, and grow together.

Corporate Wellbeing & Team-Building – creative sessions designed to strengthen teamwork, innovation, and hauora in workplace settings.

Art Therapy & Hauora Services – gentle, guided creative processes that support emotional regulation, reflection, and self-expression.

Community Partnerships – collaborations with councils, iwi, and organisations to deliver accessible creative wellbeing initiatives.

Sustainable Creativity – workshops and projects that champion upcycling, reuse, and kaitiakitanga for Papatuuaanuku.

Safe & Supportive Space – a whare where people can slow down, be seen, and find joy in the process of creating.
