Robert’s corporate career spans over 30 years holding management roles with Telecom New Zealand, Natural Gas Corporation, Transpower New Zealand Meridian Energy and Tainui Group Holdings.  He has held directorships on Tainui Auckland Airport Hotel GP Limited, The Base Te Awa Limited, Hamilton Riverview Hotel Limited, Rotokauri Development Limited and is a member of Te Whata Ora Counties Manukau Major Capital Works Advisory Group.

He is the Managing Director of Tika Group, an independent project management and project advisory consultancy specialising in delivering infrastructure and building projects for central and local government agencies, corporate clients, and iwi throughout Aotearoa.  His company is delivering several projects including the construction of New Zealand’s second-largest wind farm with 41 turbines with a construction budget of $448M.

He has had over a decade of experience in providing input into the preparation and assessment of tenders for minor and major capital works projects in Aotearoa and looks forward to sharing his industry secrets and insights with you.

Today’s announcement by Biosecurity NZ that Waikato River is home to the invasive Freshwater Gold Clam is a huge disappointment and will likely draw a strong reaction from Marae along the length and breadth of our tupuna awa.

That is the reaction from Waikato-Tainui Chair Tukoroirangi Morgan this morning as the iwi contemplates how it responds to this latest incursion.

To say I am mortified is an understatement said Mr Morgan, “more needs to be done to protect our fragile ecosystem against all introduced pests that find themselves in our waterways.”...
