This privacy statement explains how Te Whakakitenga o Waikato Incorporated ("we", "our" or "us") collect, use, disclose and process your personal information for the Te Rauhaapai Mentorship Programme designed to connect our experienced leaders and professionals with the next generation of Waikato iwi ("Te Rauhaapai").

We will collect, use, disclose, hold and otherwise process your personal information in accordance with our privacy policy which can be accessed at
Privacy Policy – Waikato-Tainui ("Website Privacy Policy"). This privacy statement supplements the Website Privacy Policy and sets out additional purposes for which we may collect, use and disclose your personal information outlined in this privacy statement, including:
- processing and administering your application in relation to the advertised role on our website;
- administering the Te Rauhaapai Programme for which you are applying for;
- verifying you as a Tribal Member;
- updating your details on our Tribal Register; and
- for such other purposes set out in this privacy statement.
We may also use the aggregated and anonymised data collected from your personal information to assist us with several purposes aimed at improving the services we provide by:
- Analysing trends and patterns to improve the quality and effectiveness of our programmes and services.
- Assessing the needs of our tribal members and outcomes to inform decision-making and resource allocation.
- Reporting to stakeholders and funders (if applicable), about the impact of our services while protecting individual privacy.
- Supporting research and evaluating new initiatives designed to benefit tribal members.
- Meeting reporting obligations.
- Informing and shaping our organisational strategy to better service our tribal members.

In addition to the personal information referenced in our Website Privacy Policy, we may also collect the following types of personal information from you:
- Gender; and
- Your skills and experience;
- Schooling, qualifications and work experience; and
- Your resume or curriculum vitae.
By submitting your application to us, you authorise the release of, and use of, your personal information to and by our kaimahi (including authorised representatives) for the Purposes set out in this application form, including your mentor (if you are a rangatahi seeking a mentor) or your rangatahi (if you are a mentor being placed with a rangatahi).
We will not use or disclose your personal information for any unrelated purpose without your consent, unless required or permitted by law.
Your personal information may be stored or processed by our cloud service providers, including Salesforce, in locations outside New Zealand. These locations may have privacy protections that are different from New Zealand law. Otherwise, we take all reasonable steps to make sure your personal information is kept safe from loss, unauthorised access/disclosure, modification, and misuse. Access is restricted to those involved in the recruitment process or as otherwise required by law.
At the end of the Te Rauhaapai, we will securely destroy the personal information we hold about you, unless it relates to the Tribal Registry or you request otherwise. You may also contact us at any time to ask for your personal information to be securely deleted earlier if you decide to leave the programme.
Your personal information collected by us will be held at 4 Bryce Street, Hamilton in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.
