Waikeri marae is located just south of Ngaaruawaahia. It belongs to the hapuu of Ngaati Reko of the Waikato confederation. The wharenui is named Reko me oona Rito, and the wharekai is named Te Ko o Mangaheko. The marae connects ancestrally to the Tainui waka, the maunga Taupiri and the awa Waikato.
