

Waahi marae is located on the banks of the awa Waikato, adjacent to the Huntly Power Station. Its principal hapuu are Ngaati Kuiaarangi, Ngaati Mahuta, Ngaati Tai and Ngaati Whaawhaakia. The marae sits upon a section of the Parish of Pepepe Lot 42 and 42 x 1 Block Order File 711/W, and in 1955 this area was designated as an area for community buildings.
The wharenui is named Taane i te Pupuke. Waahi marae connects to the Tainui waka, the maunga Taupiri and the awa Waikato.
