Te Tihi o Moerangi Marae is located on the edge of Aotea Harbour at Makomako, 21 kms north of Kaawhia township. The primary hapuu for this marae are Ngaati Te Wehi and Ngaati Mahuta.
The wharetupuna is named Te Puke Okiokinga and the wharekai is Te Aumihi. The marae connects ancestrally to Tainui waka, Karioi maunga and Aotea moana.
