Te Iti o Hauaa Marae (also referred to as Tauwhare) is located 15 kms to the east of Hamilton, near Maatangi. The primary hapuu for this marae are Te Rangitaupi of the iwi Ngaati Hauaa.
The wharetupuna is named Hauaa. Wharekai Tamangaarangi. The wharemoe (back) Tuumataura and Hinekune. The marae connects ancestrally to Tainui waka, Maungatautari maunga and Waikato awa. The marae complex was refurbished in 2009.
