Ngaatira marae is located in the Waikato, 18 km southwest of Putaruru. The primary hapuu of the marae is Ngaati Ahuru of Ngaati Raukawa.
The whare is named Te Tikanga a Taawhiao and the wharekai is Hine Te Kakara. The marae ancestrally connects to the Tainui waka, the awa Oraka and the maunga Hautere.
