Te Tomokanga Tool Grant

At its discretion, Waikato-Tainui provides tribal members on an Earn Learn opportunity (apprenticeship, cadetship or internship) with the necessary tools to support them on their pathway. Up to $500 per year for a maximum of three years ($1,500 including GST).

Terms and Conditions

  1. Must be a registered Waikato-Tainui tribal member and permanently residing in Aotearoa

  2. Must be on an Earn Learn opportunity (Apprenticeship, Cadetship or Internship)

  3. Identification provided on file (Birth Certificate, Drivers Licence or Passport)

  4. Bank confirmation provided on file (must contain bank logo, account name and number)

  5. Grant of up to $500 per year, for a maximum of three years ($1,500 total)

  6. 2nd and 3rd year applicants must provide evidence of completing the previous year

  7. Completed application form in full

Only one grant application is available per applicant in any financial year period.

Sole discretion to accept, withdraw or defer a grant application that does not meet criteria rests with us. Decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into. Incomplete applications will be withdrawn after 60 days and a new application form needs to be completed.

Most grant application payments take up to 8 weeks for processing, approval and payment (if approved). Payment is due on the 21st of each month.
