Farm Manager – Hangawera
Lead the future of farming at Hangawera Station with Tainui Group Holdings. We’re seeking an experienced Farm Manager to lead our progressive 873-hectare beef and sheep operation, combining strong commercial performance with kaitiakitanga and long-term stewardship of the whenua. You’ll oversee day-to-day farm operations, livestock performance, animal welfare, farm planning, budgets, asset care and a small team. We’re looking for an experienced Farm Manager to lead our Hangawera drystock operation.

Hangawera Station is a progressive 873-hectare beef and sheep farming operation combining strong livestock performance with modern farming technology.
The farm finishes approximately 600 bulls and steers and 2,000 lambs annually, with a stocking rate of 80% beef and 20% sheep. The operation is supported by high-quality infrastructure, including excellent livestock yards, automated weighing systems, a four-stand woolshed, and a well-maintained network of laneways and fencing.
With Halter technology embedded into the operation, Hangawera provides an exciting opportunity to lead a productive and future-focused farming business.
Reporting to the Drystock Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of Hangawera Station.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading all farm operations and seasonal programmes
- Managing stock performance, animal health and welfare
- Developing and delivering annual farm plans and budgets
- Maintaining high standards of farm presentation and asset care
- Leading, coaching and developing a small team
- Supporting a strong health and safety culture
- Working collaboratively across the wider TGH farming community

- Confidence with farm planning, budgets and reporting

- A commitment to animal welfare, health and safety and continuous improvement
