Dairy Farm Assistant

Moohou teenei paamu | About the farm:
Mangatea Dairy Farm is one of three dairy farms owned and managed by TGH, milking 550 spring calving cows on 170 ha of flat to rolling whenua located in Tauhei, Waikato.  Ensuring quality milk production and efficiency, you’ll be working with a 44 a-side herringbone shed with automatic cup removers, on a high input system 4 dairy farm.

If you’re keen to work on iwi-owned whenua, love working with animals, and want to kick-start a career in dairy farming, this is the perfect role for you.  With a can-do attitude and willingness to work hard, you’ll help with the day-to-day operations of Mangatea Dairy Farm, whilst delivering excellent business outcomes in line with our environmental, social, cultural and commercial objectives.  Working closely with the Dairy farm team, you will:

  • Carry out on-farm milking task safely and efficiently
  • Assist with animal handling, health, and welfare
  • Assist with weed control, feeding stock and pasture allocation
  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of the effluent management system
  • Actively contribute to a health, safety, and wellbeing culture
  • Help support an engaged team in line with company and tribal values.

With the ability to be a team player and work on your own, your willingness to learn, follow instructions, punctuality, reliability, along with your can-do attitude to get the job done will make a huge impression on us!  Just as important, we’re looking for a motivated individual with strong team ‘fit’, lots of energy and a desire to succeed.  We’re looking for someone who can join our team from 2 June 2026.
