Waiwhakaata Performance is a physical theatre dance company that explores Maaori concepts, mythology and koorero tuku iho (stories from the past). Creating work that pushes beyond any one form of performing arts practice and told on stage through the power of dance, theatre, Taonga Puuoro and other multi-disciplinary art forms.
The work we produce endorses inclusive connection amongst indigenous storytelling; predominantly Maaori. Waiwhakaata Performance’s main goal is to build large-scale indigenous physical theater productions and get them showcasing at renowned venues around the world.
