Supporting whaanau to reconnect with wairua, reclaim their inner knowing and return to hauora.

Ko Kylie Paekau ahau. I am a dedicated Mahi Wairua Practitioner based in Kirikiriroa, Hamilton.

For over 15 years, I have walked alongside whaanau supporting their journeys toward hauora through a holistic Maaori lens. Guided by wairua and grounded in maatauranga Maaori, my practice is shaped by the teachings of my whaanau, years of study in both indigenous and contemporary holistic therapies, and my studies with Tohunga Papa Wiremu Niania (Collaborative Indigenous Mental Health Therapy, 2017)

Alongside my 1:1 practice, I am also an Author, Speaker and experienced Hauora Facilitator. I have developed and delivered programmes for rangatahi, kaiako and tamariki across kura and ECE throughout Aotearoa. I’ve also facilitated waananga and workshops across the motu, including Wairuatanga waananga, somatic healing and nervous system care, Mental Health First Aid Certification, Tuupuna Parenting and Trauma Informed Care, all through a maatauranga Maaori lens.

I’m deeply passionate about normalising wairua experiences so we can release the fear carried through generations and continue the mahi of re-indigenising our hearts, minds, wairua and systems of care for our people.

My journey

My pathway into this mahi has been shaped by lived experience, navigating mental health challenges, healing from trauma, and reclaiming my connection to wairua.

These experiences have given me a deep compassion for others on their healing journeys and inform a practice grounded in aroha, integrity and respect.

I believe in creating safe, nurturing spaces where people can reconnect with themselves, their tuupuna and their own inner guidance.

My experience:

I have over 15 years experience supporting whaanau in their hauora journeys, integrating maatauranga Maaori with holistic healing approaches.

My work spans education, health and community spaces, providing both individual support and group facilitation.
