Weraroa Marae is located 41 km west of Te Kauwhata. The primary hapuu for this marae is Ngaati Tahinga of the Waikato confederation. The main whare is named Kuupapa and was opened in October 2012. The marae connects to Tainui waka, the Waikato awa and Taupiri maunga.
In 2011 the marae community celebrated the opening of their wharemoe, the result of three decades of fundraising and a grant from the Lottery Grants Board’s Marae Heritage and Facilities Committee.
