Ngaatira Marae is located within the Waikato, 18 kms southwest of Puutaruru. The primary hapuu of the marae is Ngaati Aahuru of Ngaati Raukawa.
The whare is named Te Tikanga a-Taawhiao and the wharekai is Hine Te Kakara. The marae ancestrally connects to Tainui waka, Ooraka awa and Hautere maunga.
