Te Tomokanga Tool Grant

At its discretion, Waikato-Tainui provides tribal members and participants of the Te Tomokanga programme with the necessary tools to support them on their pathway. We understand that each apprenticeship varies, and therefore, the tools required will also vary. The agreement acknowledges that up to the value of $1,500 (including GST) can be provided to support the apprentice in purchasing the necessary tools.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Registered Waikato-Tainui tribal member.
  2. Must reside permanently in New Zealand.
  3. Identification provided on file, such as birth certificate, driver licence or passport.
  4. Must be registered with an ITO – this is usually in your Trading Agreement.
  5. If any tools are damaged, stolen or lost within the first 12 months, we are not required to replace them.
  6. If your apprenticeship ends and/or is terminated within 12 months of signing thisagreement, we may require that your tool kit be returned to us at 451 Old Taupiri Road, Ngaaruawaahia.
  7. Official bank deposit slip (must contain bank logo, account name and number)
  8. Fully completed application form

This Grant provides participants of the Te Tomokanga programme with the necessary tools up to the value of $1,500 (including GST) to support tribal members on their apprenticeship pathway.

Only one application is available per applicant. Sole discretion to accept or withdraw a grant application that does meet meet criteria rests with us. Decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Incomplete applications will be withdrawn after 60 days and a new application form needs to be completed.

Applications are open year-round.
